I love Fridays.
Heres a few reasons why.
#1. Is obviously that it's date night, and my husband is really cute and romantic and good
with coming up with ideas for fun things to do..
#2. I see him ALL day long.
He doesn't have school Fridays, so we go to work together, and he will come pop his head
over by my desk, and I just love seeing his cute smiling face all day. It makes me happy.
#3. We go to lunch together.
I love every minute of it.  These past couple of weeks it has been "take Karina to Red Mango
and get her a yogurt parfait (not near enough food for aaron) so then take Aaron and go get him a Chipotle Burrito."  Yesterday we went to Becks Prime together.
And let me just say, they have the BEST grilled chicken sandwiches on the planet.

I was in heaven! We got an order of sweet potato fries, and they were just heaven in your mouth.
After work we went to Russo's pizzeria. Its our new found favorite pizza place.  My inlaws introduced us to it and it's the closest thing we have found to pizza tasting like it did in Italy.
I have been dreaming about this pizza all week.
It is the best Margarita Pizza I have ever tasted and let me tell you I have tried my share of Margarita pizzas!  We devoured this pizza, and it made mommy, and baby very happy.
Haha it was already half gone before I said "wait let me take a picture!"
We were deciding where to go get our usual ice cream/ frozen yogurt,
when I remembered I was out of sherbet!  Now this has been my favorite thing since I have been pregnant, I have no idea why but I love it and when I ran out the other night, it was a sad day.
At a ward/church fireside we went to a couple months back,
someone brought sherbet floats to have for dessert.
I have never tasted this goodness before, or heard of it.
Sherbet and sprite? who would have thought.
So we go to our local grocery store,
and my sweet husband buys me a huge TUB of sherbet.
I was in heaven just looking at it.
what a good husband he is!
Then we got our sprite,
and relived the goodness of a sherbet+sprite float.
I would recommend this goodness to everyone!
I wish every night could be Friday night.
Happy weekend!!
Before being pregnant,
I will be honest, I didn't mind going to the doctor,
I actually enjoyed them telling me I was healthy taking a couple vitals and your off.
Pregnancy on the other hand,
Doctors appointments are a little different story.
The routine goes like this, (well at least at my doctor.)
You get there on time, sign in, wait about 30 minutes get called back,
INTO WAITING AREA #2!!
Now during this waiting area, you PEE in your cup,
(are you supposed to pee and fill the cup up? or just a little bit?, I have no idea)
(Luckily being pregnant you pretty much have to pee every 20 minutes,
so it's not a problem.)
THEN you,
write your name on your cup and
set it in a secret door in the bathroom wall, which I just don't like to look into,
I basically set it in there with my eyes closed
(the first time I looked and it was just not a pretty sight, no one wants to compare their pee to other people's pee..
I came out mortified to aaron and told him I would never look in it again.)
and then you weigh yourself. No specific instructions just "WEIGH YOURSELF".
I thought the doctor did this for you??
"Are you supposed to take off your clothes? shoes? who knows?"
Each time I do it different, which, I should probably do it the same every time,
that way I know how much I am actually gaining/losing because the jeans and shoes
can make a difference?? Who knows??
Next- waiting area #3.  This one is usually just about ten minutes,
They FINALLY take you back, and tell you to take off your clothes and put on a tissue robe.
This is supposed to make you feel more comfortable? (Don't quite understand that one either.)
Then the sweet nurse comes in,
asks you how much you weighed in at,
(which I think is funny, I wonder how many girls actually say what the number on the scale said)
She takes your blood pressure,
(which I hate, my arm feels like it's going to fall off)
asks you to lay down and put your feet up in the "Stirrups"
(which Idk if I will ever get used to that position)
usually pushes really hard on your uterus area to check it
which isn't very comfortable,
and then takes your blood.
I HATE with a passion HATE, getting my blood drawn.
I took nursing classes, and I don't mind drawing other people's blood,
it doesn't bother me at all,
it's just when they do it to me and I can feel it coming out of my arm.
I always walk out of there feeling dizzy,
appearantly i have really SMALL veins and the nurses always say,
"Well, not doing that arm, can't see the vein very well,"
Which let me tell you is NOT reassuring.
Those of you who have been through pregnancy will understand that a blood sample
is more like a blood TUBE!
This blood testing has not gone so well in the past.
Turns out that Aaron turns white when they take my blood.
We figured this out the hard way.
It's the sight of needels into his wife's arm I guess?? Poor kid, after filling 5 tubes of blood,
he was ready to pass out with me.
Good thing your not in medical school sweetheart.
The nurse had to go and get us both water, told my husband he was looking a little green,
and we stayed an extra 5 minutes to regain ourselves.
After about an hour of waiting and doing all the TERRIBLE stuff you hate,
you wait about another 10 minutes for the doctor,
(my doctor is really popular i guess? she is darling, yes it's a she, i really like her)
Once the doctor gets there life is good.
She puts jelly on your tummy which is cold and tingley and I like it,
and you hear the little heartbeat,
she smiles and your smiling,
Like nothing tramatic has happened.
And in that moment it's pure happiness.
An hour and a half sometimes 2 hours later,
Aaron and I walk out of there with a smile on our faces,
somehow ready for the next one.

I love my doctors appointments.
Aaron and I felt our baby KICK for the first time!!!!!!!!
AHHH!! BEST feeling in the world!!!
Last night we were laying in bed,
talking and laughing (aaron was making jokes),
and Aaron was rubbing my tummy,
and talking to it (as if our little one can hear him yet)
it's really cute regardless..
and then all of the sudden
BAM!! it kicked!!!
I looked at Aaron in shock like "wait, was that really..." and BAM again!
I got all teary eyed! I was like "come on sweetheart kick mommy
again!!" and sure enough BAM!
Hahaha aaron says we need to sign this one up to be
the punter on the football team,
he's got some serious power in that little foot of his!
Anyways we felt it and heard it and saw it! It was the coolest thing
in the world. I was on such a high, I couldn't fall to sleep.
I am sure by month 9 I will be like ok please stop kicking mommy so hard!
but for the first time, it was the best thing ever.
I wanted him to kick me all night.
It was perfect to be with my husband and experience
it all for the first time.
As a mommy, you always want to know everything is ok,
I'm understanding that now,
and it was such a blessing to feel him kick,
We feel so incredibly grateful and blessed to be parents.
I love this little one with all of my heart!
Each night aaron kisses my tummy
as if to kiss the baby goodnight.
He talks to it, and tells it stories,
ha and even though i'm sure our little peanut can't quite
know or hear us yet,
mommy and daddy love you so very much!
We hit the big 17!
I can't believe we are getting close to half way.
(I say "we" as if aaron is pregnant,
haha i just consider him 17 weeks along as well.)
A few big changes for week 17.
#1. We felt our little one kick, obviously! Best feeling in the world.
#2. I had to "modify" my step/weight workout this morning...
I couldn't do it full out.
My body gives out so much easier.
My runs this week have turned into me telling myself,
"Ok, run a mile, and walk 20 yards,
run a mile, walk 20 yards, try and maybe make it another mile,
and walk 50 yards, ok run to that tree, and then walk" haha and so on.
Some days I feel better than others,
but at the same time running feels so much more accomplishing.
I am so proud to be carrying this little one.
#3. Running clothes, (tops) have about hit their peak.
The bottoms are still ok...
I knew this day would come.
They kept getting a little tighter as the weeks went on
but I didn't notice it as much until this week.
I took this picture yesterday before my run,
and that might be the last time I wear this top,
It kept riding up on my tummy the whole run!
Time for a little bigger size??
I'm still in that awkward stage, that the same people I pass running
in the week probably think i'm getting a little chubby tummy,
it's not the definite bump quite yet.
No one really knows yet.
I told aaron I think it's time I move to the looser shirts.

So ignore the face, and the hair and clothes,
and well.. everything about this picture
I had just gotten back from running,
was making dinner
and was making a face at aaron,
but #4. is that I have this burning desire to be such a mom.
I want to try cooking something different every day,
and clean every little crack in the house,
and just be a little house wife.
I have always liked cooking but never felt like this.
I read that it's natural when your carrying a little one to want all of this.
#5. I have become slightly obsessed with looking at peoples
baby bumps and reading stories of labor (which idk if that is an uplifting good thing to do too often)
and stories of babies. Everything baby, I want to know it all.
I read what to eat, what not to eat,
and i'm trying to follow carefully so baby gets all the nutrients it
needs.
#6. I have noticed that about every HOUR or two I get this little urge to eat something.
WHAT THE heck!!? I'm hungry all the time!
So I have my power snacks,
They keep me going throughout the day.
8:00 breakfast
10:00 special k or fiber one bar.
12:00 lunch usually subway or chicken noodle soup from panera, or a smoothie and toast!
ha because i'm at work/ school
2:00 graham crackers and milk
(and yes I eat them daily if not twice a day)
3:00 carrots/ or celery or grapes
4:00 string cheese
usually before I work out.
Which leads into #7.....
#7.  I get the munchies so bad at like 8:00 every night!
It's terrible! SO i will make an orange julius,
have graham crackers and milk,
or sometimes have a bowl of cereal.
(ex. last night I had apple jacks haha)
I try and stay away from the ice cream
every OTHER day,
hahahaha but usually I make exceptions.
I feel like being pregnant you can make exceptions
to having ice cream a couple times a week.
#8. Cravings have calmed down this week,
I am content with food,
EXCEPT for deboning a rotisserie chicken.
I thought my tummy was doing ok,
until about 2 nights ago when we had rotisserie chicken
for dinner I was deboning it and about lost my whole stomach.
It was terrible! I think it's the smell and the color,
and we have rotisserie chicken way too much at
our house because it's quick and healthy,
and maybe I'm just getting burned out.
However I have craved sour patch watermelons
all week, so of course,
I went and bought me some and have had those
a few times this week. hahaha
I told aaron I want a BIG HUGE pizza for date night tomorrow,
and that is EXACTLY what we are going to do.
And let me tell you, my husband and I can really put a LARGE down,
haha yes the waiter always is impressed.
So I'm excited.
yayy for date nights and the weekend means 18 weeks!!

This week our baby weighs as much as a turnip!
It's fingernails and toenails are beginning to grow!
HE IS THE SIZE OF A BAKED POTATO!!
I love being pregnant.
I'm really trying to soak it up every minute of it,
it's such a blessing to be bringing this little angel into the world.
I can't believe how much I already love him.
He will be mommy's little boy.
It's wedding time of the year!
I miss it!
I want to get married again! To Aaron OF COURSE,
but to relive that day again would be the best thing in the world.
It goes by so quickly and next thing you are on your honeymoon.
Speaking of honeymoon,
I found all these honeymoon pictures
that my husband I reminisced
through.. I want to relive every one of these moments!
Congrats to everyone jumping on the married train,
it truly is the greatest blessing in the world.

We took a 9 day trip of a lifetime to the beautiful island of Hawaii.
We spent 5 days on Maui and 4 days on Kauai.
A perfect dream!!
