Watching airplanes and eating an ice cream cone.
He knows what's up.

This kid is 150 percent boy.
If I let him, he would never wear a shirt. (Or pants for that matter)

Today was a really big day.
My husband had his very last day of Law School!
WHAAATT!?
 I'm so proud of him.

I basically tackled him when he walked through the door tonight.
8 years of college later, and we are down to 2 weeks of finals.

Bring it on.

Ryan and I are obviously good at keeping busy with ice cream while he's gone at night. :)
What better way!?

Sunshine and Summertime.
Kills me.

 Only in Texas.
(Aaron and I looked it up- legit site)

Trying to bust open the gate, to get to the rock.
Who is this child?

Our fake dog Spot takes a beating most days but last night I went into his room found them like this.
Him and his dad are so going to beg me for a real one, one day.

I am quite the artist.

The dog obsession is real.

We spent "Earth Day" stepping on bugs and picking wild flowers.
Thank you mother nature for my child's happiness.

Sometimes we go the our mall just to look at boats and walk the waterway.
Every one needs to come visit me.

Speaking of visiting,
A couple of weekends ago our good family friends came into town.
My sweet mother-in-law got them matching outfits for their pictures.
It doesn't get much cuter than babies in matching outfits.

If Ryan was stranded on a desert island and could only have one object
he would choose this ball. Best $2.50 ever spent.
Walmart baby.

Car watching outside just because.
Oh the "ungirly" things I do for this kid.

Just to make this post even more random than it already is,
I'm loving THIS recent Ellen 4 minute segment. Hilarious. I love Kristen Bell.

Baby is sleeping so I'm currently dreaming of Red Mango (HINT HINT husband)
while doing a few of THESE  leg work outs, (that will seriously tone you up)

Annddd obsessing over These kisses.
I can't get enough.
Happy Thursday!
Holidays are even happier with kids.
Seriously, I'm in heaven watching the excitement.

Ryan enjoyed (a little too much) eating his very first Easter candy,
finding Easter Eggs,
wearing the cutest Easter outfit to church (thanks to "Mimi")
and carrying his new stuffed bunny around all day.

This kid and his animals- I tell you.
He's obsessed.

So grateful for the Celebration of our Savior.

My heart is so full.
Happy Easter all!!
xoxo
First things first- Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your sweet messages, texts, and emails regarding my last post.
You are the sweetest and it seriously made my day- you have no idea.

 INSTA

Next on the agenda- Ryan is pretty excited to wish you all a Happy Friday!

We are pretty happy to see daddy for the weekend and take him away from school for a few days.
Around this time of year Law School and I become enemies.
'Law School' becomes this person that I find myself having conversations (and arguments) with on a daily basis.
Ha I told my husband, 'Law School' and I will never fully understand each other.

On to the real reason for a Friday post!
I have a deep love for milkshakes. (and Peanut Butter)

I was craving a milkshake while surfing Pinterest, (NOT A GOOD COMBO) when BAM.
I found this "protein peanut butter smoothie"
Resisting the urge to go drive and find a 1000 calorie milkshake, I decided to try it.

SOURCE

Oh was it a hit!

I have been so addicted to this smoothie, it's not even funny.
And my boys LOVE it, so it's turned into our "dessert" every now and again.

Creamy Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie

1 Frozen Banana (HAS to be frozen to make it creamy)

6 oz. Vanilla Yogurt

1/3 cup Peanut Butter

1/2 cup skim milk

5 ice cubes

BLEND. It takes 3 minutes to throw together and seriously tastes like a vanilla peanut butter milkshake.
(If you are not the biggest peanut butter lover-
add less peanut butter and a little more yogurt and it will hardly have a peanut butter taste)

It satisfy's every sweet tooth I ever have at night.

Our day has consisted of ball throwing, chalk drawing, bug stepping and park going.
It's been a good morning.
Ryan's Outfit/ Shirt: Janie and Jack (on sale now!) / Pants: Gymboree (also on sale now!) / Shoes: We found at MARSHALLS- Steal! but they are here at Polo

Happy Friday all!! xoxo

"How much of life do we miss by waiting for the rainbow, before thanking God for the rain?"
- Deiter F. Uchtdorf

One of my very favorite quotes from the recent general conference.

As some family and close friends know,
I have had some medical complications following my miscarriage.
I don't talk about it much because it can get discouraging.

I have found that it is so easy to focus on the discouraging parts of each day.
It's easy to "wait for the rainbow" and pass up happiness and blessings that are right in front of you.

Literally.
(don't mind the massive bruise on his cheek- #toughkid)

So here's to finding joy in the details of every day life.
A few examples.

Like going on Chalk dates.

Eating Colorful food.
I'm obsessed.
And yes. Aaron likes to have a sweet potato AND a baked potato.

Need I say more.

And the beautiful world we live in.
I seriously couldn't get over it on my run this morning.

Focusing on the happy will always make the complicated part not seem so bad:)
Oh heyyy!
It's me again.
A quick update.
Couldn't stay away for too long.
I have grown way too much since my last post.

Now I'm 19.6 months old.
Yes almost 20 months.
Big time.

Mommy and I go everywhere together. (nothing new)

We send pictures to Daddy while he's at school to let him know what we have been up to all day.
He gets jealous.

Don't let that one tooth fool you, I now have 7 teeth.
Yes, 7.
They are popping in by the day.
My molars popped out of no where a couple weeks ago.
Daddy says "I a'int no jack-o-lantern any more!"

My favorite date with mommy is when she takes me to Red Mango.
She buys me my own cup, gives me my own spoon and lets me get it all over my face.
But only if I'm a good boy.

I can officially count to 5 and I know the colors Yellow and Blue. (and sometimes purple)
Oh and I am learning my alphabet.
Mom says if I keep growing this fast she will pull her hair out.
Whatever that means.

I told mommy all I need is a ball and a truck to be happy in life.
She agreed.

I request Trader Joes every time we go grocery shopping.
I have to be able to buy the good stuff.

Oh and bedtime stories are my favorite.
Daddy tells them way better than mommy.

Speaking of bed time it's way past mine.
Night, night.
I will be back soon!

After playing around with recipes, I finally found my favorite version of a bunch of them.

My Favorite Green Drink:

1/2 Cup Vanilla Yogurt
(It's way better with vanilla)
(I buy the big container of Dannon Nonfat Light & Fit Vanilla yogurt- It's in a big purple container- it's my favorite ever)

1 Navel orange or 1 Tangerine or 1 Mandrine orange
(I just peel whatever I have on hand- it's amazing with any type of orange)

2 cups of spinach

1/2 frozen banana

7 ice cubes

ANNDDDD BLEND! Put the yogurt in first and frozen things in last so it will mix.
P.S. to make it more filling add a little dry oatmeal (my husband loves it that way)

p.s.s.  i stay away from juice in my smoothies because juice just adds lots of sugar.
I think it is the perfect amount of sweetness without it.
If it needs liquid I will add a little milk.

**Total Calories: 187

I am not a big fan of weird ingredients. The simpler, the better.
I don't cut food groups out, I like eating food I can just throw together that I have on hand.
These are every day ingredients that are ALWAYS in our fridge.
Probably the easiest recipe ever.
It takes me about 3 minutes to throw together.

In fact, I am drinking it as we speak.

The best part about it- I double the recipe and fill Ryan's sipper cup with this almost every day and he downs it!
Seriously. Obsessed.

I happen to love spinach just eating it as a salad, but this is a great way to get those antioxidants from spinach if you hate it!

Happy Friday!!
xoxo
We spent our Friday night date at the park right down the street from our house.
Feeding ducks, chasing ducks, and blowing bubbles.
You would have thought Ryan was at Disneyland he was so happy.

He went through our 2 slices of bread we brought (we were out of bread ha) like it was nothing and pretty soon other people were offering our child some of their bread because Ryan kept saying "More, More".
Worst parents ever - Next time we will bring like 2 loafs. ha

After Ryan realized that he couldn't catch a duck no matter how fast he moved those little legs,

we blew bubbles.

Then the sun started to set.

Ryan model walked for us,
(but seriously, check out his stance)
And we still kept blowing bubbles.

I was once again pinned as the boring parent when daddy showed me up in his bubble blowing skills.

It was so calm and beautiful outside,

I swear the night could have been out of a movie.

Into the sunset, chasing his bubbles.
Happy as a bumble bee.

Ryan's outfit- Sweater: Janie and Jack / Shorts: Polo Outlet / Shoes: Polo
