#1. I honestly didn't know whether to be happy or sad to be wearing a sailboat shirt on October 29.
I have lived in Texas for 2 years now (SO crazy) and I'm STILL getting used to the weather.

We sometimes try and dress "fallish" just because I feel the need to when I see pumpkins.
However then it gets really hot hahaha so I figured instead of dressing like it's fall time....
today I chose COMFORT in the 83 degree weather.

#2. Totally one of those "dress for the picture day". Poor baby was sweating by the end in that sweater. (looks are deceiving!) But really, how cute is it!? I was dying.

We took Ryan to his very first pumpkin patch which needs a post in and of itself. It was seriously heaven on earth for this kid. He was so sad to leave!

#3. It's official. I was dubbed as the boring parent in the relationship when Ryan discovered "push ups on daddy's back". Working out will never be the same.
(excuse the bedding all over- hello laundry day)

#4. Ask me how much we love Dr. appointments..
ok, don't ask me, we highly dislike them.

Baby cries when he sees the shots nurse. ha he TOTALLY knows what's going on now.

My string bean weighed in at a whopping 21 pounds today (14 months) (which is not that much compared to some kids his age haha He totally has his dad's metabolism...
operation "fatten you up little one!")

#5. Totally like 2 weeks ago but BYU football came to US!!!
First time ever in the history of football BYU plays Houston!

We were able to drive 35 minutes and be at the game, instead of flying 3 hours to Utah:)
It was awesome.

#6. "Baby you're the song that makes me want to roll my windows down and cruise.."

Ok so sometimes on Sunday nights my sweet mother-in-law tells us to go take her convertible out for a spin while they watch the baby. I think it might be one of the most relaxing things on the planet.

We talk and cruise...and it's the best thing ever. Any time I can get this babe out alone without a law book, makes me one happy girl.

Halloween is going to be a good time over here. I am pretty excited to take my puppy trick or treating.

I married the Halloween grinch. But he sure does love me because he "semi-dressed up" as a cute school boy with me.

Can't wait to see all of your creative costumes!
That's one thing I am terrible at.. (thinking of good costumes ha)

So I will stick with Ryan's cutest Pottery Barn Kids costume and our "last minute thrown together" prep outfits
ANDDD live vicariously through you guys and your costume creativeness:)

My love boat is ALMOST walking!
I don't know if I can handle the fact that all of the sudden he is looking like a TODDLER!
WHERE did my baby go!?!?!

(say hello to Grandpa Joe in the back.....
Ok, so we really have no idea who that is but Ryan really likes his dog ha)

The babes fell pretty hard while standing up a little while back and I think it scared him.
So even though this little stinker would still rather speed crawl (which he is totally pro at these days)
he will finally walk at a pretty good pace just holding one of our hands.

One of these days he is just going to take off.
I refuse to believe he is a toddler until he officially walks.
(secretly just trying to hold on to the "baby phase" as long as possible!)

The weather is gorgeous at nights so we have been soaking up the park when Daddy gets home.
Ryan (and I) have been in heaven.

Just thought I would share from my INSTAGRAM a little morning time at our house,
(his little voice kills me)
along with some cat and fish action from Mr. Ryan.

Yes, I don't know where it came from, but the fish has a sound around here.

P.S. Don't worry, nothing is wrong, he just says "Uh Oh" to everything.

I hope you all have the best weekend.
We are pretty dang excited it's Friday over here! xoxo
We love football season over here.
My husband loves it maybe a little too much;)

I grew up traveling to away games and NEVER missing a home game.
We have been really lucky to see a few BYU games even though we live pretty far.

I love this stadium with all of my heart!

We drove up from St. George Saturday morning to go cheer on our Cougs.
Ryan didn't leave my dad's lap. Oh how he loves his grandpa.
(by the way he can say "bampa".  He called for him all weekend. It was the cutest!)

The weather was PERFECT and we won. Which is always a plus. Made for happy boys:)

Ryan met Cosmo (the mascot) for like the 3rd time.
I don't think I met Cosmo until I was like 16. What the heck.

Just had to reminisce and say this was LAST year on the EXACT same weekend.
Ry was not even 2 months old. His very first football game.
(We have trained him well)

My siblings had fall break in Utah last week!
(I have come to find out that fall break doesn't exist down here in Texas ha)
My parents decided to fly us out to meet them in St. George.

Aaron, I and the babes literally flew in to St. George at 11:55 PM on Thursday night and had until Saturday morning at 9 AM to "fit in everything that we possibly could in just over a day"

Oh my goodness the crisp fall air made me so happy I could cry.

We stayed at the beautiful resort Entrada.

An early run, swim and back flip session.

By 9:30 AM we had already run 5 miles and gone swimming.
(I tell you, we were determined to fit everything in that we could)

The boys golfed, so the girls ate Kneaders and baby shopped for a couple hours.

A beautiful dinner at the clubhouse,
(where Ryan enjoyed his own order of Sweet Potato Fries)

A night at the Tuacahn theater,
(which is UNBELIEVABLE- if you are every in St. George UT- GO!)

and a late night trip to Dairy Queen for their SMORES blizzard,
(which I am convinced everyone should try in their lifetime)

Made for the perfect day.

We got up early Saturday morning and biked Snow Canyon.
(another "must do in your lifetime bucket list item")
Then, headed back up north to PROVO for a football game you know the boys couldn't miss:)

A day is just not long enough for that pretty place.

Lets be honest, who doesn't have a bad day every once in a while!?
I always used to tell myself, "behind every smile is a secret."

*The day where nothing seems to go right.
(mommies- the day where your baby will not stop crying and you have no idea what they want)

*The day where you eat one piece of junk food and because you have already "ruined your healthy eating" for the day, you might as well eat as much junk food as you can on that day while saying "my diet starts tomorrow"

That "No good dirty rotten very bad day". (LOVED that book as a kid)
I HATE those days!
(my husband has since learned that us girls just have these days every once and a while and the best thing he can do is to listen:) Words of wisdom right there boys)

Why talk about this on Fit Friday??
You cannot be fully 'healthy' if you are not happy.

Lets really try to avoid these days.:)  Here are my top 5 to avoiding the bad day.

#1. Get yourself moving before you do ANYTHING!
Here's the deal. As soon as you wake up and sit your little bum down by the TV or eat some breakfast, it is that much harder to do any kind of workout for the day! So to avoid feeling like a bum on a log: GET YOURSELF MOVING.
Seriously who knew exercise could make your day 100 times better?!
It doesn't have to be a lot! **WORKING PEOPLE: Before I had Ryan when I was working early, I got up ten minutes earlier than I would have and did my favorite 10 minute workout in the history of ten minute workouts. INSANITY CARDIO WARM UP
*So even though it was ten minutes, (and trust me if you have done 'Insanity' you will know it's not an easy 10 minutes) it made me feel so much better for the day! (I still would try and workout when I got home from work to do something a little longer; but the 10 minutes in the morning made all the difference)
YOU WILL BE SO MUCH MORE MOTIVATED ALL DAY LONG.

#2. Make a list of things to accomplish for the day.
Write down 5 things you want to do for the day. My list may look like this:
1) read scriptures
2) call my mom
3) go on a walk with the babes
4) go to the grocery store
5) clean closet drawer.
They don't have to be big things. Just simple things and by the end of the day you will feel so accomplished. (even though sometimes we don't get all 5 done ha- it's the thought that counts)
(I love to doodle, so I think I have more fun drawing my list then checking it off)

#3. Eating one piece of junk food doesn't give you a green light to eat junk all day
I am so guilty of this. I have no idea why our brains think that the second we eat junk, the easier it is to just keep eating as much bad food as you can in that day.
***The more calories you eat, the longer it will take for you to burn them all off.
There is no such thing as "ruining your day" by eating a little candybar.
We all deserve something good every day.:) Keep your body happy with having sweets here and there. Just stop at a few little candy-bars instead of feeling terrible when you go to sleep after eating the whole bag.

#4. Eat breakfast
Start the day off right.
I don't know about you, but I'm a total grouch when I go without food for a few hours at a time. (ask my husband) I talked HERE about eating 5 smaller meals a day. I'm a huge believer. Skipping meals is the ultimate NO NO and I'm convinced will put anyone in a bad mood.

#5. Look for the good in every day.
I promise, there is something good in EVERY DAY. It might not be big. It may be that the "sun is shining today". If I ever get down on myself, I ALWAYS try and think to myself, "someone out there is having a worse day than me." It totally changes your perspective and makes it easier to find the good.

Just remember "YOU choose your own happiness!"

Happy Friday! xo

Sorry for the short absence....
Ryan and I have been soaking up every minute of this beautiful fall Utah weather with mi familia.
Who knew wearing boots could make you so happy!?

I am loving having a workout buddy every morning. (you are the best mamma!)
The only thing that's a little adjustment to my bones is the 35 degree temperatures at 7 AM.
(You early runners are dedicated I tell you!)

Ryan gets carried 24/7 (which is so not helping his walking progress) and gets pampered by my siblings.
He is in heaven being center of attention -(Nothing new)

We will be Houston bound tomorrow afternoon.

Wish us luck on the plane.
You would think the babes would have this 3 hour flight down by now, but somehow it always turns into 3 hours of death.

Hope everyone is having a great week!
We will be back really soon! xo

PS. I was so honored to be featured on the lovely and popular Style Elixir talking about Mommyhood (my most favorite thing!)
You can read HERE xo

Dear laundry day...
Talk about the least fun day ever! Who invented you anyway!
I have a cure to a better laundry day.- Have a baby right there all day long with you.
You will be guaranteed to smile.
(PS Does washing baby clothes make any one else happy?? That is the one thing I don't mind doing. I will iron and fold his clothes all day. I love how tiny they are.)

Dear Daddio...
It's a close call between the babes and I on who's more excited for you to come home.
Somehow you just coming home just makes every day a better day.

PS. Dear Law School. Because of you we have hardly seen daddy this week. Luckily we have a much needed short getaway this weekend...

Dear Packing...
I dislike everything about you and leave you until the VERY last minute every time.
I am the Worst procrastinator packer in the history of packers.

We are currently packing to head to Utah tomorrow!

I usually bring my whole closet but this time I actually really do have to pick out outfits and take up as least amount of room as possible.

We are pretty dang excited to see my family and breathe some fresh mountain air.
Anyways you can follow us HERE for updates.:)

Dear baby of mine...
I'm only a little bit sad you don't need my milk before you go to bed anymore.
I don't like to face the fact that you are just fine with your sippy cup of cows milk.

Dear fake dog Spot..
I don't know what you ever did to deserve 10+ kisses a day from this kid.

Dear Nike Track Suits...
Whoever invented you in baby size was genius! They might be the cutest things ever. I am in love!

Dear Bathtime...
We love you. I am convinced my baby will not get out of the tub until he is pruned.
We sometimes have way too much of you!

Also PS. Dear future teeth of my baby. Will you ever come?? We are just convinced he will stay toothless forever. That's ok. I love that gummy smile.

Dear Running...
So not looking forward to doing you before my husband goes to school in the morning at 6.. Lets just fast forward to 7 AM when I get home?? mmk? Ok.

At least I get a really pretty view.

Dear Wednesday....
It's technically Thursday now. I'm keeping my husband company while he reads hundreds of pages of  books and stays up until who knows when..
xoxo
We spent our weekend cuddled up on the couch watching General Conference.
Twice a year we get to listen to talks and messages that will uplift any mood..

My favorite from yesterday...
And some of my favorite quotes from recent conferences...

General conference weekend is the ultimate excuse to get comfy and cozy.

It was a rainy Sunday morning today and the first "cool" morning of the season down here!
By "cool" I mean not over 85 degrees:)

We took full advantage and stuck Ryan in his first hoodie since January.
ha Ok total exaggeration
but it feels like it's been hot forever!

So we were pretty excited.

There are few things cuter than a baby in a hoodie and jeans.

My darling mother-in-law took the babes on a shopping spree last night (what else is new:) ) and one of the many outfits was this cute Striped hoodie and Jeans from Baby Gap.
(Which by the way the whole store is 30% off with your card right now! (ends today I believe) )

I'm so in love.

INSTA
We will be spending the rest of the afternoon with family.
The most important part of life!

(Say hi to the cheez-nip thief on your way out! He can reach this box in the pantry, and will bring it over to the couch and eat cheez-nip after cheez-nip)
(PS. We are working on squats so his baby bum can plump out and fill out his jeans
haha it's cool, right now Aaron calls him Justin Beiber)

PSS. Everyone should go watch HER story. After being burned in a plane crash, she manages to survive and make the best of her new life. SO inspiring.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
So last time I mentioned 21, my favorite bicep workout.
Now I'm going to explain a shoulder workout that I do in rotation WITH the bicep workout.

Step #1. Grab your weights. I use 5 pounds.

Step #2. Start with the weights down at your side.

Step #3. Keeping your arms straight lift the weights straight in front of you.

#4. Still keeping your arms straight lift weights out to the side.

Step #5. Take the weights back down to your side.

Step #6. Take the weights BACK up to side.

Step #7. Then from side to FRONT.

Step #8. Weights back down.

THAT IS ONE FULL SET.
Think in your head "DOWN, FRONT, SIDE, DOWN, SIDE, FRONT, DOWN.
Repeat 10-12 times. (I will usually do this 10-12 reps 2 or 3 times in a workout!)

This will tone your arms and I promise it will make those shoulders long and lean!

This is super super easy! If I can do it, anyone can do it- trust me!
Happy Friday! xo
