I'm telling you, this kid knows how to party in the bath tub.

UPDATE on Spot our fake dog:
*Still receiving royal treatment from the babes for sitting there and doing nothing.
*Cannot take a bath without him in the bathroom with us.
*Has to have him by his crib to sleep.
*He pants like a dog (to say he wants his dog) about 235 times a day.
I seriously have a second child.

"So fresh n so clean clean"

While Aaron was out of commission the last few weeks, AKA when law school takes over life,
Ry and I had a few date nights. This one being to Red Mango.

**Photo Credit- the darling Chelsea Keller.
Remember when I went to Red Mango every day of my life while I was pregnant?
Well Chelsea worked there and I got to know her.
((I told you they knew me by name))
As fate had it, she just happened to be there the same night Ryan and I went last week.
The Red Mango workers have seen him grow from day one -Literally.
Should I be proud or embarrassed?? ha

His new found face he makes that I finally captured on camera the other night.

Our cute little Gingerbread casa that we thought was pretty cool until our friends.....
Completely dominated with a Gingerbread temple.

There is an easier way my child

Cutest little Christmas shopper. If you follow me on INSTA you saw the video.
(heads up- I didn't upload it here so it wont play if you click on it haha)

Is it seriously December?

My cute Christmas gifts using THIS Christmas Puppy Chow.

One day I couldn't find my child. Then I found him in the dryer. NBD.
He had climbed in there, (who knows how) and then was a little traumatized that he didn't know how to get out.

Fast like his daddy. (I'm telling you, he is like a mini clone)
Every time I get this kids' diaper off, he takes off!
Runnin wild and free baby!
"Choose your love, Love your choice"
I married quite the sweetheart.
After coming home from his last final last Friday night at 10:30 PM,
He told me to pack up, that we were leaving in the morning.
He had a night away planned with some Christmas shopping and a little pampering.
Merry Early Christmas to MEEE!
(thank you to the best in-laws ever for babysitting and letting us borrow their fun car for a couple days!)

ANNNDDD as always, but ESPECIALLY during this holiday season,
A big thank you to my sweetheart for making life so beautiful! I love you!

Happy Tuesday!
XOXO
Let me first start off by saying I'm NOT a fan of treadmill running!
I have a hard time looking at the same wall for 40 to 60 minutes.
I feel the same way about running on the treadmill as I feel about my weight workouts.
Exhibit A.
I would almost rather run up a mountain and feel like I'm going to die, than run on a treadmill.

hahah trust me, the hatred runs deep!
ANYWAYS..... Sometimes the treadmill is just necessary.

Don't worry I still do it even despite my dislikeness... every winter, or on vacations.
(some of you maybe just prefer running on the treadmill - CRAZY people -teach me your ways!)

I have some tips for treadmill running to help burn a few extra calories.

I figured this post was fitting given Winter is among us.
#1. INCLINE
As SOON as you get on the treadmill, put your incline up to AT LEAST 1- Before touching the speed. I put my incline to 2 or 3 (sometimes 4 for a lap or 2) depending on my mood.

**For the workout shown, I ran at a 2 and a 3 incline and look at the feet I climbed plus I burned an extra bunch of calories**

I promise you, if you start out with an incline, after a few laps around the track it will feel like you are going on flat ground and you won't even realize you are burning more calories!

I usually will try to run a mile or two on 3 incline and then lower it to 2 incline for two miles than 1 for my last mile. (makes it feel like you are going downhill -trust me!)

As soon as you get tired, lower it. (maybe your last mile or your last lap is with no incline)

Maybe your goal is to run just one mile (which by the way is awesome- I totally remember when I made it a mile, it was like the angels were singing!) Start out at a high incline and then lower it with each .25 lap around the track!

#2. Speed
It doesn't matter if you run a 15 minute mile or a 5 minute mile, you will burn MORE calories by changing your speed!

I love going by laps. Maybe I will run one lap at a sprinting pace, and then run the next 2 laps at a jogging pace. One sprinting lap, 2 jogging laps, ETC. (This can be for outside running also!)

**Your body needs that push out of it's comfort zone to burn that extra fat and calories!

If you are running a 10 minute mile pace for 3 miles, every single day, your body is going to PLATEAU sooner or later and you will start to burn fewer calories every time. You will burn a lot more calories if you switch up your pace every so often:)

 #3. Walkers and weights
If you are running on the treadmill, I would highly NOT recommend running holding weights.
(it will totally mess up your form)

However, if you are WALKING - add some weights to burn a few more calories. Walk pumping your arms the whole time or at least some of the time.

I have "off" days where I try to go walking and if I do go on the treadmill, I like to get 2 or 3 pound weights to walk with. It will burn by the end!

#4. Just go by time
One thing that helps me get through my treadmill workouts, is to just go by time.

Give yourself 30 minutes or 40 or 52 minutes, whatever it is and try to go as fast and as hard as you can in that time length. Then your done.
Don't get on the treadmill with no goal in mind. It will probably end up taking you forever and you will end up walking a lot. Just go by time you will end up pushing yourself harder and getting that extra burn for that extra fat.:)

Happy Friday everyone!
Come 10:30 PM tonight and I will have my husband back again! FINALLY.
I hope he crushes this last final.
One more semester to go!
Let the Christmas celebrations begin! xoxo
LOVING THIS.
I have watched it about 5 times now and I almost cry from laughing every single time.
I think it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen.
It will make your day.

WISHING he will stay this little and innocent forever.

I have been going crazy on PINTEREST with Christmas treats.
DREAMING of THIS and WILL be making these Christmas muddy buddies this weekend.

WONDERING how the heck this tree has survived and hasn't fallen over with this curious little toddler runnin around.

It's been looking a lot like Christmas for awhile at our house and I have failed to post a picture of our full tree.
The babes is loving every minute.

Happy Wednesday! xo
Home is really pretty even with no leaves on the trees and no snow on the ground.
I loved being with my family for a couple weeks.
However, the weather went from THIS,
To THIS pretty fast while we were in Utah!
Prettiest blizzard ever.
We were stuck in a winter wonderland last week and Ryan was in heaven.
Lots of hot chocolate, and cuddling up by the fire.
Everyone needs to experience Utah snow once in their lifetime:)
2 degrees (literally 2) called for a snow coat for Ryan,
and a beanie every time we stepped foot outside.
My mom is a genius.
Every year we wrap this tree and store it and then unwrap it.
Pretty sure it is the easiest 15 minute put up of a tree, ever.
(however, I don't know if my husband and dad and brothers would agree hahaha)
I was reminded how much I hated to run on the treadmill while I was in Utah!
5 miles felt like an eternity on that thing every single time!
I would much rather hit the pavement.
Running on ice in 2 degrees just wasn't an option last week:)
So there is an ongoing disagreement with my husband and I on whether Ryan has a mullet.
(It's been going on for a couple months)
I think it's borderline,
and my husband is convinced it's a full on mullet when it is not "gelled" up.
I just can't bring myself to cut the baby curls. They kill me.
Ryan's first selfie.... with my pile of laundry in the back.
I was looking through my phone pictures and found it and started laughing!
I did not take this and I have no idea how he managed to take this with my phone.
These babies are just wired to be technology genius's.

My mother-in-law is the QUEEN of bows.
Seriously.
I can never NOT put a bow on a package ever again.
She has taught me how to PERFECT the bow making!

Sunday afternoon we spent a few hours putting together this masterpiece, making lots of bows.
I am obsessed with her polkadot ribbon, pottery barn stockings (notice Ryan's on the end- the puppy!) and bow galore tree!
Thanks to law school taking over life right now,
I have a mini to keep me occupied.
I don't know when he got so toddlerish looking but it's kind of making my heart hurt!
I asked Aaron if he wanted anything when he got home from final #3 out of 5 last night at 10:45 PM.
He said he really felt like a cheese quesadilla.
What ever floats your boat babe!
Pretty sure we were making cheese quesadillas at 11 PM last night- Awesome.

I'm really glad I got to see him for an hour before we went to bed last night. haha

Come this weekend we will be home free and there will be lots of celebrating.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday! xoxo
If you follow me on IG you saw this video a couple weeks ago.

Just when we thought he would speed crawl forever, Ryan finally takes off.
(he had taken lots of steps but just had never gone farther than 15 feet)
Better late than never.

Now I'm chasing him around the house.
It's like one day he just decided he could do it and boom.
What the.

We just happened to be in Utah with my fam, so they were able to witness it all.

My baby is officially not so baby anymore!
Is it this emotional for anyone else or is it just me!?
We bundled up, flew to Utah and spent Thanksgiving in the beautiful mountains wih my family.
Within hours of arriving, we loaded 3 cars of food, and headed up to my parents cabin in Heber.
The first thing we did was jam out to JB's Christmas album while setting up Christmas decorations.
Usually my family waits until after Thanksgiving to set up for Christmas,
(especially since my mom is the queen of decor and has so much pretty fall decor)
but with Thanksgiving being so late we wanted to enjoy the tree while we were up there for the week.
OHHH how I LOVE Christmas time.
Before I get to carried away with my love for Christmas lets recap my other favorite holiday.

My parents invited my cousins up to stay with us for a few days for Thanksgiving!
I have a HUGE extended family (only about half were able to come into town) and it's quite the party when we all get together.
(seriously you have to try my Grandmother's Mexican cooking one day)
THIS pretty girl is the newest addition and joined our crazy chico family THIS SUMMER and I love her to death.

Thanksgiving morning a bunch of us tackled what my parents, siblings and I call the "cabin death run".
It's only 5 miles but feels like 12. Running up a mountain will get you.
I think I have whimped out by living at elevation 0 for 3 years. Hello Houston.
That run deserved a few pieces of pie.:)
My dad cut the turkey and the cooking began.
Side note that my mom's rolls might be my favorite part of the meal.
You may have wanted to stop by our place for the 17 pies we had to serve.
The night ended with a Turkey bowl while the girls froze our buns off watching.
(I have to give my husband props because he is the one catching the ball in this picture)
Family, food, and gratitude.
I love this holiday.
So incredibly grateful for family, an adoring husband, and a darling baby boy.

P.S. My birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year.
I was spoiled and got a feast for dinner,
was able to be with my family,
and was sung to by about 40 people...
ANNDD got to go outlet shopping at 10 PM on Thanksgiving with my parents and husband.
(Yes we were one of "THOSE" people.)
Talk about the perfect day.
Here's to 23. It's going to be a really good year.

PSS. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SWEET BIRTHDAY WISHES, EMAILS, AND TEXTS. SERIOUSLY MADE MY DAY! You guys are way too sweet!

The babes and I just arrived in Houston TODAY.
Hence why I'm a little behind!
My husband has been crazy deep in finals,
so we stayed in Utah a little longer to pass some time!
More to come on that one!

I hope everyone had the most wonderful Thanksgiving! xoxo
