Given Ryan's slightly extravagant "Hole in One Golf Party" I threw for him last year on his first birthday,

we decided to make this years birthday a little more low key
( like buy the banner at the store instead of make it HA )

 and wait a year
(( for my husbands sake ))
 before I go crazy with a huge party again.

We spent the day with our little family - the best.

Ryan has a passion for cars so we decided to give him a little "cars heaven" for a day.

We celebrated on Saturday so that Aaron could be there to spend the whole day with him and we could take Ryan to do all his favorite things.

He woke up to birthday pancakes and a few gifts from Aaron and I to open.

I made Aaron blow up like 30 balloons to cover our family room with- 

And Ryan was in heaven overload!

Ryan loving golf makes my husband the happiest person ever.

It's the cutest thing to watch him try and "putt" his ball in the hole and watching my husband teach him how to swing.

Even though it was 100 degrees out, after 9 holes
he totally cried when we left the course- he loves it that much!

It was a perfect day together celebrating our favorite little human.

Ryan was in heaven and still to this day asks me almost every morning "Mamma, Birfday?"
I'm like "no sweetie, still a long time until your next one"

Ryan is beyond OBSESSED with cars so Aaron and I decided to give him "cars heaven" for a day to celebrate his birthday.

Just to give you an indication on my "not so talented" baking skills- 

I sent my husband this picture of the finished product of my car cupcake while he was at work.

After telling me they were pretty sweet and that he wanted one, he then asked where I bought them..?

I was like "ummm honey, I made them"

Awesome.

What little faith he has in my baking skills:)

I think I have burned one too many cakes in the oven HA. I don't blame him.

Moral of the story---You can totally do this at home.

If I can make them, you can make them.

I saw the original idea HERE and just baked my little heart out to make it come to life.

All you need:

Red Frosting

M&M's

Mini Chocolate Chips

and a White Chocolate baking Bar

Step #1. Bake your cupcakes.

**I substitute applesauce for oil and egg whites for eggs.

Step #2. Make your Frosting.

I made THIS easy 4 ingredient frosting and added LOTS of red food coloring to make it really red.

Step #3. Make your "windshield"

Break off little rectangles of your white chocolate bar and frost the edges with red frosting.
Then take 2 mini chocolate chips for the "eyes"
((I stuck the little windshied in the freezer for about 10 minutes so it hardens up:) )

Step #4. Put on your windshields. Push them into the cupcake.
Step #5. Use 2 yellow M&M's for your headlights
and 4 brown M&M's for your wheels.


And that my friends, is how you make a car cupcake.
My two year old absolutely LOVED them.
I think I'm getting this whole "boy thing" down.
Trust me if you have boys, they are a hit! XO

The first thing we did was jam out to JB's Christmas album while setting up Christmas decorations.
Usually my family waits until after Thanksgiving to set up for Christmas, 
(especially since my mom is the queen of decor and has so much pretty fall decor)
but with Thanksgiving being so late we wanted to enjoy the tree while we were up there for the week.
P.S. My birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year.
I was spoiled and got a feast for dinner,
was able to be with my family,
and was sung to by about 40 people...
ANNDD got to go outlet shopping at 10 PM on Thanksgiving with my parents and husband.
(Yes we were one of "THOSE" people.)
Talk about the perfect day.
Here's to 23. It's going to be a really good year.

The babes and I just arrived in Houston TODAY.
Hence why I'm a little behind!
My husband has been crazy deep in finals,
so we stayed in Utah a little longer to pass some time!

We had a "Guess the # of Tees" along with party hats for all the kiddos.

To make the "birthday boy's" hat a little different than the rest we added a cute Navy ribbon while doing the rest white.

This was the one part of planning that got me pretty teary eyed.

Obviously I don't know what it's like to have a little girl, but having a little boy is pretty much the best thing ever. I'm so in love!
