Um yes, talk about a picture perfect couple.
A few days after we got home from Europe we flew to Utah for my cousins wedding.
Hello Jet-lag- ha Ryan was finally getting the hang of sleeping at night again.
I love this cousin of mine and he picked the cutest girl ever.
I'm so happy she is finally apart of our crazy Rascon Fam!
She is perfect and I love her!
They were married in the Salt Lake City TEMPLE and their sealing was beautiful.

I was beyond excited to see these two. Words can never describe how much I miss them living so far away!
If you get my huge chico family together, we can really dance up a storm.
It was one good party!
HELLO beautiful Utah mountains- HOW I HAVE MISSED YOU!
We headed up to our cabin for a few days.
(Ryan has a thing with my little brother. It's the cutest thing,-they love each other.)
BBQ, Smores, golf, movies, and games...
It was so beautiful up there!

Aaron stayed through Sunday and then had to fly back for work.
I stayed the extra week with the babe.
I had a running buddy every day- miss my momma!
And Ryan was in heaven with all the attention from my fam.
It was perfect.
I love Utah summers with all my heart!!

Houston bound we went.
As hard as it is to say goodbye, it was one GOOD reunion when this little boy saw his daddy!
xo
Don't ask me how he is already 11 months old.
I cried. and then cried again.
My baby is growing up wayyyy too fast!

-He goes through a box of cherrios like there is no tomorrow.
Who would have thought we would be going broke off cherrios;)

-He is probably the fastest crawler on the planet. This kid can fly. Not kidding.
He uses one fist and one palm and it's hilarious to watch him coming at you!
We make a good duo every day.
- He thinks he is a pretty big deal around here.
No but seriously, he runs the Powell household.
It's Ryan's world and we are just living around him....but I'm okay with that.:)
-He LOVES the water. Bathtime, pools, everything water, you name it.
Oh and he is not afraid of anything.
Like the vacuum- some kids cry because of it.
No Ryan comes charging at it full force.
fearless baby and it scares me to death.
He is a baby comedian and he doesn't even know it.
Watching him try to push this table everyday kills me.

-He dances every time music comes on. It's hilarious.

-This is his favorite toy.
I will tell him "go get the ball!" He will crawl to it, pick it up and say "ba" and throw it.

-He goes to bed at about 8:30 PM and sleeps until 7:15 AM.
Nap from 10-11:30.
Nap from 2-4.
It's the best.

Oh yeah, he is toothless and it's the cutest.
I love those little gums.
I didn't get my first tooth until I was like 14 months hahaha ultimate slow poke.
and Aaron was like 11 months, so who knows when it will come.

-He still nurses about 4 times a day (morning, night, and midmorning and afternoon) but is slowing weening the day time feedings. I never thought it would make me so sad but it does!

-He's a good little eater. His favorite foods are bananas and avocados, toast, and my green smoothies.
(no kidding- he downs them like theres no tomorrow)
Oh and Red Mango..

Talk about my little love boat, and my bestest bud ever.
We do everything together, and I feel so lucky to be his mommy.
Happy 11 months sweet baby boy. You are my world!

We docked in Barcelona and sadly left the cruise ship.
After 12 nights on a boat, you get to know a lot of people-
We got a lot of "We will miss baby Ryan!!" ha
(There is nothing worse than getting off the ship and seeing the people waiting to get on the ship
because their cruise starts that day! I hate it!)

The day we got off it just happened to be my darling mother-in-law's birthday!
Aww Happy Birthday!!!
She is the prettiest (enter her age) year old I know!
Her and I were in heaven finding the cutest candy stores.

We walked through their markets. The fruit was INCREDIBLE.
My father-in-law bought me a huge cup of fresh mangos- ok he bought me like 3 cups.
 I was in heaven!
But when we got to the animals heads and brains and every limb you can think of for sale, and it kinda freaked us out. It was my college anatomy class on steroids.

We did find a Hard Rock Cafe and my mother-in-law requested to eat lunch there.
Good ol' American food.

I love Spain. So pretty.

We explored the city for the day, and Ryan's favorite part was watching the birds.
He would get so excited when they would come close to him.
It was the cutest thing.

We stayed at a pretty cool hotel for 2 nights!
The next day was my father-in-law's birthday! Awww Happy Birthday!!!
How fun that they are a day apart huh!?
We had a tour guide the second day and he took us up to Montserrat. It was incredible.

The views were unbelievable!

After lots more touring of the beautiful city,

we ended the trip with a bang when we ate at the most incredible restaurant with really good bruschetta.
A huge thank you to these two for making it a dream vacation.
I am so lucky to call them second parents.
Seriously the best cutest in-laws in the world.

We flew to Germany,
and then 10 hours back to Houston. Longest flight ever.
Luckily the Disney movie "Bolt" was on for the babes, and this time around we got a bassinet!!!
Which brings me to my next point-
I have received many emails with specific questions so hopefully this helps! PLEASE please email me if I missed something I would be happy to help!
People traveling overseas with babies-

1. Get a bassinet! (As seen in above picture) We tried to get one on the way out to Europe and there just happened to be 12 infants on the plane and so we couldn't get one! (even showing up 3 hours early for our plane- still couldn't get one)
But we did get one on the way back and it saved our life! (because my baby will not sleep in anyone's arms- he HAS to be in a bed)
Ryan slept like a rock in there.

2. We cruised on Norwegian Cruise line! and did the 12 night Mediterranean from Venice to Barcelona. My in-laws have tried out most cruise lines and this was our first time trying Norwegian. Loved loved loved it! I would totally recommend it.

3. Our backpack carrier was the best thing ever purchased.

You can't tell but it was raining pretty good in this picture,
and as you can see Ryan is completely protected.
He slept in there, played in there, ha basically lived in there for 2.5 weeks.
You can use it until they are like 40 pounds or something so it lasts forever!
(we are totally using it on future trips for hiking and stuff!)
We got ours at Babies R Us, it was the only backpack carrier they had- and it's awesome.

4. We debated on bringing my big BOB stroller.
SO glad we decided not to!
We just bought a cheap umbrella stroller and brought that.
In Europe there is lots of climbing steps and old roads.
The umbrella stroller was so easy to maneuver around and a lot easier to push around the cruise ship. (carry up and down the stairs etc)

5. How to go on a 12 night cruise and not gain weight. hahahaha
But seriously.
Food is endless on these things.
A. Take the stairs. We were on floor 10 and never took the elevator. Only to carry up our suitcases.
Aaron got double the workout carrying the stroller up all those flights of stairs.

B. Work out every morning you can. Even if it's just 20 minutes.
Some mornings we could go run 5 miles on a treadmill if we were at sea or we ported later but most of our tours left at 8 AM (or earlier) so Aaron and I brought resistance bands and would do abs together or arms the days that we didn't have time to go to the gym before our tour.
You walk a lot in Europe so that helps too!
C. Go dance at night. Burns lots of calories and we had a blast.
D. If you are craving sugar, go get some fruit! Cruise ships have the freshest fruit (usually) and it's an endless supply!!
E. Choose one meal to splurge on instead of making every meal a crazy 1000 calories.
I'm not a huge breakfast lover (Don't get me wrong I NEVER EVER skip it, I would just rather have cereal than eggs and bacon) So each morning I just had a bowl of cereal and fruit, even though there is 200 items to choose from on a cruise ship. I would rather eat a pizza for dinner then 4 waffles for breakfast. Make sense?

6. Highlights- There were lots of highlights, but if I had to choose one-
If you ever have the chance to do the Gondola in Venice, DO IT.
Seriously one of the coolest things I have ever done.

ANNDDD If I could only choose one place to go back to it would be Naples Italy to stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Incredible food and one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!

And my last really educated tip:)- If you do go to Europe get a baguette or two, and eat lots of gelato and pizza.
Somehow America just hasn't quite caught on to those three things like Europeans have:)

Until next time Beautiful Europe! xoxo

 France is GORGEOUS.
Our tour guide took us all over and we spent the day in Marseille.
It seriously doesn't need words, it's just that pretty.

Okay so my husband and I are OBSESSED with "Count of Monte Cristo"- the movie,
and we thought it was the coolest thing EVER when our tour guide told us that that is "Chateau D'if" where it was filmed!!!

We were still pretty sad about leaving Italy I guess because we ordered pizza for lunch right on the harbor. It was so beautiful.
Turns out french pizza is AMAZING too.

We ended the day with driving up to the highest cliff and seeing THAT view on the left.
Um- so beautiful!
Of course we had to get gelato
and my in-laws bought me that huge baguette.
Seriously my favorite thing ever.
America you need a French bakery.
(I am trying to convince my husband to bag law school and open one of those;) )
I would almost eat a baguette over ice cream... almost.

Our tour guide was pretty sweet.
He loved the babe!
I love French people!

We headed back to the boat for our last night on the ship:(
Goodbye beautiful France! xo
Next stop- Barcelona Spain.

Lets talk about how cool the Leaning Tower of Pisa is!?
We ported in Florence but our tour guide took us all over.

Lets now talk about a Leaning Tower of Pisa picture fail.
hahaha
Good thing our hands line up with the tower. ha
Oh well, we tried.

Our tour guide found out Aaron was in Law School and that my father-in-law is an attorney so he had to take us to their law school.
Apparently his son goes to school there!? Pretty cool

Coolest little law school I've ever seen!

Lets now talk about how pretty Italy is!?
Seriously my favorite. I could live there and eat pizza every day of my life!

My favorite part of the day was driving through Tuscany and eating lunch in the vineyards.
Oh my gosh it's gorgeous! So green and so pretty.
Just like the movies.

And finally, let's talk about how much gelato we ate that day.
Ok, lets not talk about it, I almost get a sugar rush headache thinking about it ha.
But seriously, we stopped at 3 different gelato places on ONE STREET.
That's a lot of ice cream.
Hey, when in Italy- do it right!
Loved you Florence.
Next stop.. Beautiful FRANCE!
