Finding happiness in the details.

"How much of life do we miss by waiting for the rainbow, before thanking God for the rain?"

One of my very favorite quotes from the recent general conference.

As some family and close friends know,
I have had some medical complications following my miscarriage.
I don't talk about it much because it can get discouraging.

I have found that it is so easy to focus on the discouraging parts of each day.
It's easy to "wait for the rainbow" and pass up happiness and blessings that are right in front of you.

Literally.
(don't mind the massive bruise on his cheek- #toughkid)

So here's to finding joy in the details of every day life.
A few examples.

Like going on Chalk dates.

Eating Colorful food.
I'm obsessed.
And yes. Aaron likes to have a sweet potato AND a baked potato.

Need I say more.

And the beautiful world we live in.
I seriously couldn't get over it on my run this morning.

Focusing on the happy will always make the complicated part not seem so bad:)

  7. Sending many hugs. Yes, it's easy to get caught up in the struggles, but I often think that with my struggles, I'm more open to the small wonders that light up my day as well. And I think that was my favorite quote from conference. Love you Karina.
