34.5

I have quite the basketball if you haven't noticed.
It has popped significantly in the last month or so.

I crave lemonade, mangos, and cheese pizza.

I have gained 17 pounds.
I am gaining around a pound a week lately- sometimes less..
Baby is supposed to be gaining .5 pound a week-
so .5 pounds to him and .5 pounds to me. haha
Regardless of the fact that you know you are supposed to be gaining weight,
and it's healthy for you and the baby,
it's still never easy watching the numbers go up each time you get on the scale.

The baby is almost 18 inches long (according to baby ap)
and weighs as much as your average cantaloupe. 4 3/4 pounds.

I have no stretch marks... I might be jinxing myself on this one.
I haven't used any of the special creams or lotions though- I hear they just waste your money??
But who knows I could be wrong.
My tummy itches so bad at night time (because of the stretching)...
so I lather lotion on it, and it seems to help. (with the itching ha)

I'm still wearing my wedding ring.
It fits the same..
Hopefully that doesn't change within the next couple weeks because I don't know what I would do if I couldn't wear it.
I never take it off... (except to lift weights ((which let me tell you isn't a daily occurrence))

Lately I tell Aaron I feel squishy. haha
I think that's actually a perfect way to describe it.
I just feel like I'm filled up with water.
I have come up with many terms to describe the way I feel lately.
my husband says they crack him up.
When I lay down on my back, I feel like a beached whale.
I think that's Aaron's favorite term I have come up with.
hahaha it's hard to move.

I don't like sitting for long periods of time... It's so uncomfortable.
I would rather be standing or laying down.
In the car, I can't sit up straight, he is in my ribs,
and so I have to recline the chair and put my feet up on the dash,
which Aaron just loves I'm sure haha

Heartburn is NO FUN.

Always take Prenatal vitamins with food.. at least the kind I have,
you would think I would have learned that by now,
they make you sick.
however they are making my hair grow like a weed and keeping my baby healthy-
so it's a good thing.

I will be honest and tell you that
Labor is beginning to scare me.
Epidural or natural? Any thoughts on that topic?
I personally don't have a strong opinion either way..
I know there are pros and cons for both.
My mom had 3 natural and 3 with an epidural.
I am planning on getting an epidural with my first because pain scares me...
However aaron and I know everything you can about contraction positions,
from birthing class
so if we decide to last minute go the natural route... haha we are ready to take it on.

I cry when I see newborns.
At birthing class this week,
they brought in a brand new baby to weigh him...
oh my goodness, i cried.
They are so little!!!!
(I couldn't get a shot fast enough of his face- he was the cutest thing!)

I am down to running only about 15 miles a week,
and Aaron and I will walk a couple times a week...
I have figured out that that is the comfort zone for my body.

babies latest shoe addition thanks to my mother in law.
I am in love.

My poor body just can't sleep,
meaning my poor husband can't sleep,
meaning this week there has been a lot of late night movie watching
while he rubs my face and tries to put me to sleep.
haha I'm like his little child i know..
how lucky is he.
Last night I resorted to tylenol PM..

Lets be honest Bathroom breaks are every 20 minutes ha.
ok not all the time, but seriously.
The sight of water will make you need to go..
A couple days ago on my run, I got hit by a texas rain storm,
with 2 miles to still go...
This was the type of rain that you can't see past 5 feet in front of you
(and if you have ever been in a tropical rainstorm you will understand, that it POURS)
#1 concern that came to my head-
You would think it would be- "I might get hit by lightning",
or "my ipod might be ruined",
or "my shoes are squishy"
but NO it was...
"oh no, how am I going to hold it until I get home.."
(meaning bathroom, because the water was KILLING me.)
It's not like you can sprint home either...
I'm sure it was quite a sight to see
as a 8 month pregnant girl limped along running through a storm.
I honestly didn't think I was going to make it. haha
Needless to say I'm alive, and was able to make it to the bathroom,
somehow..

In case you were wondering..
#2 child will be planned with my pregnancy being in the winter time...
haha I wouldn't recommend the combination of Houston heat & humidity with being 8 months pregnant.

Aaron and I are just so happy.
5 more weeks little one!
We cannot wait for our bundle of joy.

  1. I agree Karina! No woman likes to see the numbers on the scale go up. I am also feeling very squishy these days and everyone just shrugs it off and tells me to eat what I want. Ditto to the pregnancy in the summer, too. It's so hot here in Cali that I might just think about planning #2 in the fall or winter as well.

  6. You look darling. On the natural vs. epidural ?- I chose to go natural with my son mostly because I am a control freak and the idea of not being able to feel every little thing going on in my body during labor freaked me out more than the thought of the pain. It's totally a personal decision...whatever makes you feel at peace because you NEED to be at peace. However, even if you plan on getting an epidural, it's a good idea to practice some deep relaxation techniques just in case. You never know how things will go, and you may not be able to get an epidural or it may not work.
