Aaron was convinced he was going to celebrate being "29" for one more year and then just skip to 31 next year! HA
Why is there is something daunting about the number THIRTY!?
We celebrated hard by spending the weekend in San Antonio as a fam with my in-laws!
Roasted smores, tubbed around the lazy river, shopped a little, and ate at all our favorite kinds of restaurants - THE BEST.
Oh and golf for Aaron and his dad - because golf is one definite way to his heart.
Our hotel had a miniature little beach that the boys played on for a couple afternoons!
( we stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country and loved it! I loved the "southern feel" it had and the breakfast buffet in the morning is AMAZING! Oh and they have a basket of free apples by their check in desk and Aaron, Ryan and I ate like 2 apples a day HA! I'm not kidding when I say they are some of the best apples I've ever had! )
Luke LOVED the sand, ( unlike Ryan the first 3 years of Ryan's life HA ) However, the first time Luke sat in it he put a whole handful of sand into his mouth - I let it happen to see how he would react - needless to say, he didn't try it again! --- YUCK!
We are actually going on a tropical vacation with Aaron's parents in a few weeks so this got the boys ready for the real thing ;)
If ever in San Antonio, you have to eat at "DOUGH"
( I believe they are in Dallas also! ) Tastes just like ITALY! Seriously amazing.
And if you haven't already been able to tell - an Italian margarita pizza is the way to my heart!
Blurry phone picture - but a picture nonetheless ;)
Tex mex is our favorite food.
We rank all our Mexican restaurants on their fajitas ( and chips and salsa of course! )
Hotels are always an adventure with two kiddos!
Luke is the lightest sleeper ever, AKA #horriblesleeper and sometimes still thinks he needs to nurse a couple times a night like a newborn - HA so it's a good thing Ryan is the BEST sleeper ever and sleeps through it all ^^ little champ!
Gosh, we are so grateful for this sweet husband and daddy.
We are truly the luckiest.
Happy birthday love! I love growing old with you.
Looks like such a fun weekend!! It's crazy when your husband turns 30 right? My husband is nearly 5 years older than me and when he turned 30 was the only time I felt our age difference!
ReplyDeleteSame here!! We are 4.5 years apart so all of the sudden I'm feeling "young" HA! Aww I love it!
DeleteLooks like such a fun weekend!!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am also a mom of a 5 month old and I am having mixed thoughts about until when to nurse my son. Do you have any advise on that? It has affect my hormones and hence impacting my mood, weight gain and all that. Also, I am always so terribly hungry. What was your trick to get back in shape while nursing?
Thanks!
Natalia
Natalia,
DeleteFirst off, congrats on your 5 month old! So sweet! That is a great question! I'm no expert of course but I nursed my first son until he was 13 months old. He eventually "weened" himself. Luke is still pretty attached to nursing so when he get closer to a year I will slowly take out feedings. I loved that I could go straight from nursing to whole milk with my first son! I plan on doing the same with Luke -- Although of course, everyone is different and it might not be the best way to do it depending on your body. I agree, Nursing makes you SO TERRIBLY hungry! I feel you! It can definitely work to your advantage when trying to loose weight. Before you stop nursing I would advise to lose as much baby weight as possible! You are burning SO many calories a day nursing that once you stop, it will be that much harder to adjust your appetite AND try and lose the weight! If you can "count calories" or track what you eat ( so you make sure you are still getting enough food to produce plenty of milk ) it helped me so much! I still track what I eat so I'm aware of what I am eating and HOW much. Your body can actually "THINK" you are hungry when in reality you are just needing water. Try to not eat after a certain time at night, just be a little strict with yourself for the time needed and then once the weight is off, it is so much easier to maintain the weight! I remember putting on a couple pounds after I stopped nursing just because I was used to eating SO much! So once you do stop nursing, tracking what you eat will help stay on track once you aren't burning all those calories every day :) Hopefully that helps! Please email me if you have more questions! I would be happy to help in any way that I can! XO
Happy 30th birthday Aaron - what a wonderful birthday!!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all happy birthday Aaron!! My baby turns 1 this month and she used to be the best sleeper ever!! Then, out of nowhere, this past month she just wants to nurse all night. I feel you...makes for some long days!! Glad you are back! I've missed your posts and beautiful family :)
